Particles for Humanity and Hexagon Nutrition Complete PFH-VAP Manufacturing Transfer
Cambridge, MA, USA & Mumbai, India (September 23, 2026) Particles for Humanity and Hexagon Nutrition Limited today announced the successful completion of commercial-scale process validation for PFH-VAP, to be sold commercially as VIT A+, a stable formulation of vitamin A palmitate developed for large-scale food fortification. The validation campaign was conducted by Hexagon Nutrition in India, and completed the transfer of manufacturing from LIS by Lesaffre’s site in France.
VIT A+ was designed to improve the stability of vitamin A during storage and cooking under conditions commonly encountered in low- and middle-income countries. Successful process validation demonstrates that it can be produced consistently at commercial scale while maintaining the key product attributes established during development. Each commercial-scale batch produces enough VIT A+ to fortify 600 million servings of food. The transfer is expected to enable more cost-effective production, helping expand access in regions where vitamin A deficiency remains high.

Following the 2025 announcement of their partnership, Particles for Humanity and Hexagon Nutrition worked together to transfer manufacturing knowledge and prepare VIT A+ for commercial supply.
